Moltrecht’s green treefrog is the most common green treefrogs in low elevation mountains in Taiwan. They are the most extensively distributed. The adults are about 4-5 cm. Nicknamed Taiwan treefrog, it is an endemic species in Taiwan.
The medium green treefrog is about 4-5 cm long. The sucker of its toe pad is obvious. Its back is dark green, but the darkness would change with the environment. Its belly is white or yellow. The side of its body and the inner side of its limbs has irregular black spots. The hidden surfaces of the hind legs are orange.
Highly adaptive, Moltrecht’s green treefrogs can be seen in an orchard, woods, clearage, mountain stream, ditches or ponds. They often hide between the soil crack, or beneath the base of a plant or fallen leaves. Breeding takes place all year. They breed in different time in different areas.
