Early Stages |
Liberty Stationery Corp. started business in Taiwan as a trading company when Li Hwa Trading Company was founded by Wang, Song-Chen in 1948. Li Hwa Trading Company imported Japanese stationery brands to sell in Taiwan under the name of Liberty. Mr. Wang fully applied the experience he obtained from Shenyang and Japan to the stationery market, laying a solid foundation for plant operations and international trade. |
Equipment Upgrades & Product Line Expansion in the 1950s |
Years later, in 1954, Pai Tai Industrial Co., Ltd. was established as the production division and started manufacturing and marketing "Liberty" brand and OEM products worldwide. The line of products evolved from stencil paper, ink, carbon paper, stamp pads and paste, and printing water to pencils, watercolors, crayons, oil pastels, advertising pigments, ballpoint pens, sign pens, permanent markers, colored pens, and erasers. |
Adoption of Japanese Stationery Design & Technology |
In response to market needs, Liberty partnered with well-known Japanese stationery manufacturers and founded joint ventures like Liberty Pencil Co., Ltd., Wiremade Industrial Co., Ltd., and Taiwan Sakata Inx Corp. A non-carbon paper plant, Pai Cheng Office Supplies Co., Ltd., was also founded in Pingzhen, while pencil plants were also established in Thailand and Tianjin, and cable plants were founded in Hong Kong and Singapore. |
Diverse & Stable Operations |
To enhance corporate competitiveness, Pai Tai Industrial Co., Ltd. was renamed in 1998. Li Hwa and Pai Tai, along with Liberty Pencil Co., Ltd., Wiremade Industrial Co., Ltd., and Pai Cheng Office Supplies Co., Ltd., merged to become Liberty Stationery Corp. in 2003 in the hope of continuously offering products in an honest, stable, and reputable way. |
