As a native species in Taiwan, Taiwan treefrogs often inhabit in the clean rivers, mountain stream, ditches in the mountains or hills. Their main breeding seasons are spring and summer. With swollen sucker shaped toe pads, Taiwan treefrogs are able to climb between branches and leaves easily. Their body goes darker or lighter with the environment. During daytime, the frogs often inhabit in the trees or between stones. At night, the male frogs would croak on the rocks by the river together. On the night after a rainy day in summer, the frogs are often seen on the forest road or industrial road in the mountain.
